Hamilton Craft Studios is a new creative space for makers of all levels, housed inside an old industrial factory in downtown Hamilton. I had the pleasure of creating their brand identity, logo and website from scratch.
The brand identity was inspired by classic design references such as Bauhaus and De Stijl, as well as the shapes and lines used in drafting and drawing. I wanted to strike a balance between fun and friendly, and clean and minimalist by using an abstract logo mark with a museum-like wordmark, and colourful shapes with black-on-white text.
The website is built on Shopify, with a few customizations to better suit the needs of HCS. For example, since some of the products being sold are courses, the courses collection pages display the dates and experience level for each.
